eCubeeCube

Why are you cooling the air and not your product?

The eCube is one of the simplest and most intriguing inventions in the refrigeration industry. Created by award winning British inventors Harry Banham and Guy Lamstaes, the eCube’s design is based on the simple principle of cooling product and not air.

When a fridge or freezer door is opened, the compressor typically responds quickly to the change in ambient air temperature even though food temperature remains stable. The eCube fundamentally changes the way refrigeration operates by shielding the temperature sensor from fluctuations in air temperature.

When the eCube is fitted to the existing temperature probe, the fridge responds only to the temperature of the product, preventing fluctuating air temperatures from spontaneously starting the compressor. This means less energy is consumed and compressor cycles are reduced.

In addition to the energy savings, the eCube reduces compressor starts and stops by up to 80% helping prolong equipment life without compromising food safety. The eCube can be easily installed by your own refrigeration maintenance contractor or by a professional installer who has been trained by Summerhill Innovation and is available in your area.

Current eCube clients in Canada and the U.S. include Pizza Pizza, Exhibition Place, Cheesecake Factory, and many more.
