Helping Homes Conserve
Energy and water conservation for low-income households
This community energy saving program from Union Gas helps families in financial need reduce their energy use and save money on their utility bills.
Qualifying program participants receive free installation of a number of energy efficient and water conservation products including a programmable thermostat and are able to save up to $200 a year on their energy bills.
On behalf of our utility client, Union Gas, Summerhill Strategy used in-depth research to create neighbourhood profiles, mailing lists, and priority call sheets for direct marketing activities. We also designed and distributed direct mail pieces, hosted a number of energy conservation workshops, created a strategic media plan, and hired and trained our field representatives to promote the program at multiple community events.
Our NGO partners, including the Social Planning Council, the Red Cross, and the United Church of Canada, were able to fulfill their mandates by encouraging low-income households to take advantage of the Helping Homes Conserve program.
