Canada-China Environmental Forum
Annual conference to inspire new ideas and partnerships
Beginning in June 2008, Summerhill and TLI – The Mandarin School have collaborated to organize and host an annual conference to stimulate ideas, encourage partnerships, and inspire Canadian and Chinese businesses to create relationships and opportunities that have significant impact for environmental and economic development in both countries. Partners and sponsors of the Canada-China Environmental Forum have included:
- The Home Depot
- Canada China Business Council
- Ontario Centres of Excellence
- Hong Kong Canada Business Association
- Ontario Ministry of Economic Development & Trade
Among many others.
With this initiative, Summerhill is able to bring together decision-makers and influencers in politics, investing, technology to drive awareness of environmental issues and to undertake positive action. The Canada-China Environmental Forum drives market transformation in the following ways:
- Stimulates growth of the emerging Canadian green economy
- Opens up new global markets for Canadian environmental solutions and expertise
- Provides new opportunities for sustainable economic growth
Chinese policy and priorities are rapidly changing when it comes to the environment giving Canadian businesses the chance to provide market-based solutions for China’s environmental problems. The companies involved also benefit greatly from gaining direct experience in the Chinese market.
