Car Heaven is an initiative of Summerhill Impact, designed to reward and enable people to get their older, high-polluting cars permanently off the road.
Car Heavenwas developed to tackle the need to accelerate the retirement of old, higher polluting vehicles and promote a shift to new, cleaner and more efficient technologies.
Easy, free and always available, across all provinces: Car Heaven provides a turnkey, national program through our online portal, bilingual call-centre and coast-to-coast recycling network, adhering to an endorsed and sustainable Code of Practice.
Each participant can designate a charitable benefit: Proceeds from the recycling of your older, polluting car will go to charities throughout Canada. Participants are issued a charitable tax receipt for at least $20 from a participating charity of their choice.
Car Heaven is the only national end-of-life vehicle program dedicated to using only responsible auto recyclers. Participants are assured that their vehicle is responsibly recycled, that all the hazardous components will be removed and diverted from the landfill, parts that can be reused will be salvaged, and the steel and other metals will be recycled.
Since 2000, Car Heaven has removed 91,217 old vehicles from Canada's roads, raised $3,588,755 for charity and prevented the release of 47,154 tonnes of carbon monoxide (CO)¹ and 4,906 tonnes of smog-forming emissions (VOCs & NOx)¹.
